Position Title: Elementary School Special Education Teacher (2026-2027 SY)

Position Summary:
A successful candidate should be comfortable working as part of a team and have strong oral and written communication skills. Appropriate DESE licensure in Moderate Special Education is required and candidates should have previous experience working with middle school students with a variety of disabilities including Specific Learning Disabilities, Emotional Impairment, Communication Disorders etc. Restraint training and three years of experience is preferred.
 
Candidates should have experience in the following areas:
  • Strong behavior management skills
  • Collecting and analyzing behavioral and academic data
  • Providing specially designed instruction in both inclusion and pull-out settings
  • Scheduling integration time for students
  • Providing supervision to paraprofessionals
  • Supporting social skills development
  • Differentiating instruction
  • Knowledge of a variety of academic programs
  • Evaluating students using a variety of assessments (e.g. WIAT, GORT, TOWL, CTOPP, etc.)
  • Writing reports, goals, IEPs, and progress notes
